Antique hand colored map of Corsica and Sardinia ( Corse and Sardegna ) by Brion de la Tour, 1766. This lovely map is in French and shows the provinces both civil and ecclesiastical. It was published just before the Genoese ceded Corsica to the French king Louis XV in 1768. Notable towns and cities are marked. Decorative cartouche and border. Original color. Center fold as issued. Good to very good condition with some slight staining, toning that is darker at paper edges. Measures approx. 9 x 10.25 inches to the neatline and 11.5 x 15.5 inches to the paper edges.
