Antique map of the Northern Atlantic with parts of Europe and North America showing the areas that the Vikings explored.  This map was first made in 1837 and published in "Antiquitates Americanae" edition of 1845, authored by Carl Christian Rafn. Includes Iceland, Greenland, Spitzbergen, Scandinavia, the UK, France and Spain, Baffin's Bay, Hudson Bay, and North America from Newfoundland to Florida. This map contains many Viking names for various locations, as well as some modern place names, and some other information. Good to very good antique condition with mild overall toning, some slight creases/waviness to the antique paper, some tiny spots, and a fold as issued. Approx. 9.5 x 10.75 inches to the neatline.
