Antique hand-colored print from "Atlas of Physical Geography" published by c.1850 by Petermann and Milner, engraved by J Dower. This page was the title page of the atlas and is decorated with an image comparing the heights of mountains from different parts of the world and also a Tableau showing the Distribution of Animal and Vegetable Life in Ascending Regions (a la Humboldt). Very good antique condition, with some foxing and some minor spots/staining around the margin. Vibrant original hand-coloring. Measures approximately 8.5 by 12 inches to the neatline.
