Genuine Antique Map
1803
Maker: Delamarche
Antique map of the World on Mercator's Projection by Charles Françoise Delamarche, the successor to Robert de Vaugondy, c. 1803. This map was published in various states from the 1790s to early 1800s- We know this was after 1802 based on the information in the title, and an 1804 version included the date, so this is presumed to have been published in 1803. This version includes the discoveries of Capt Cook, and information from Perouse (Jean-François de Galaup, comte de La Pérouse), and Sir Alexander Mackenzie. Colored by religion and includes some notes about discoveries. Very good antique condition with some mild toning and minor spots/foxing. Measures approx. 9.5 x 15.25 inches to the neatline.
