1899
Maker: Brine / Walker
Antique map of part of Plymouth, MA, made in 1872 and revised in 1899, surveyed by C.H. Paines, made by Wm. H. Brine, and printed by Geo. H. Walker & Co. This map shows the area between Fresh Pond and Massachusetts Bay, and from Old Beach Road to Circuit Ave. This is a developement map with the properties indicated, some wooded areas shown, and charming illustrations of fishing on rabbit pond, a sail boat, a steamship, and a handsome house overlooking the water. This was used as a working document and various marks were made on it by previous owners, including green marker around some areas, notes in blue pen, and a note that indicates 'Lots to be sold to-day marked "x" ' with large X's on nineteen different lots. Some lots were updated to Sold on this 1899 revised map (many of the properties along the shore were sold). Fair antique condition with marks as described above, folds and wear along the folds, mild toning that is darker in some places, some wear and tears at the paper edges, and some tears in the map, specifically in Fresh Pond, near the title, and at the fold intersections. Measures approx. 14 x 19.5 inches to the neatline.
