Some early railroads are shown, including one between Vicksburg and Jackson that doesn't connect anywhere else and a proposed railroad from New Orleans north through Monticello and Columbus. The map says it was \"Entered according to Act of Congress in the year 1836\" but this map includes the county of Harrison, which was created in 1841. It does not include Sunflower County, which was created in 1844. Bolivar and Washington counties have early shapes. Very good overall antique condition, with toning that is darker at the paper edges, some minor small edge tears, a few minor spots.
