Antique hand colored map of Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas from a school atlas published in 1866. The coloring of Arkansas displays how these maps were colored- probably with a stencil that the colorist lined up and then painted inside the stencil. The person (often a woman, child, or invalid) who colored Arkansas didn't quite line the stencil up properly. Very good condition, map is attached to a board. Approx. 8 x 10.5 inches to the neatlines.
