Attempts to build the railway bridge were unsuccessful for many decades, and ultimately the project turned into the Bear Mountain Bridge, which was built for use by automobiles and formally opened in 1924. The scene in front of the bridge is peaceful, with figures in sailboats and rowboats traveling along the water. Very good antique condition with mild toning and some minor creasing\/wrinkling of the paper. The \"Harper's Weekly\" title has been cut off the side, with the date of the edition left there.
