Black and white engraved antique city plan of Toulon, with inset of the plan of Toulon to show where the advanced guards were posted in the necks of the mountains to prevent the investing of Toulon, from Nicolas Tindal's "The History of England", vol. IV, London, 1745. Noted on the map is that the map shows the "Attacks and Defenses of the City of Toulon besieged by the army of the Allies by Sea & land under His Royal Highness the Duke of Savoy and Sir Cloudesley Shovel, Admiral of the British Fleet on the 1st of Aug. 1707", and the map gives "References to the Action in the night of the 14th of Aug. 1707". Shows details of locations of military encampments, Head Quarters, and battle lines, etc. Very good overall antique condition, some discoloration at edges, 15.5 x 18.5 inches.*****SOLD*****
