This colored antique map was published in Letts's 1883 Popular Atlas, Being a Series of Maps Delineating the Whole Surface of the Globe, with Many Special and Original Features. Showing major points of interest and geological features, it measures approximately 15.5 x 14 inches and is in very good antique condition with some toning and foxing and discoloration at center fold. The portion of the map tinted green indicates the wine-growing districts of the country. The places underlined in blue being centres of the white wine, red wine, and the green liqueur trade. Eighty-eight departments are listed and indicated by number.
