Antique folding map of part of Rhode Island, published by the New York, New Haven, & Hartford R.R. Co. and Rand McNally & Co. The map is dated 1897 but the additional numbers and the character of the booklet that the map was included in suggests this map is actually from 1924. The map shows the Rhode Island coast from New London to Little Compton and including Newport, Providence, Block Island, Fishers Island, Watch Hill, Westerly, Narragansett, and more, all with roads, railroads, trolley routes, and steamship lines. Very good antique condition with some tiny spots. Could be removed from the booklet for framing. Comes in tourism booklet that is full of wonderful information and photos. Some of the pages of the booklet are loose and the staples are rusty. The artwork on the cover and small drawings throughout the book are by John Held Jr. Booklet measures approx. 8.25 x 5.25 and map measures approx. 7.5 x 15 inches to the neatline.
