Antique map from "Nouvel Atlas Portatif, comprenant le Geographie Universelle, Ancienne et Moderne…" by M. Herisson, fourth edition, 1816. Includes the Sahara Desert, Mountains of the Moon, and a large unexplores area where Lake Victoria would later be found. Original hand-coloring. Very good antique condition with minor signs of age including slight toning and some tiny spots/foxing. Map measures approximately 7" x 9.5" (H x W) to the neatline and 8.25 x 10 inches to the paper edges.
