Antique black and white map showing Africa. Much of the interior of Africa on this map was filled in based on either hear-say or pure creativity because Lake Victoria was not documented until 1858, although there is a lake on this map near the actual location. Other features include an ostrich and another animal near the center and many ships in the ocean. Decorative border on the cartouche. Very good condition, archivally restored and backed with light-weight tissue. Approx. 6 x 7 inches to the neatline.
