Antique Printed Color map from 1898 titled "The Map of Maps" showing Yukon, Cariboo, Omineca, Cassiar, and portion of the Kootenay Gold Fields from the latest surveys by the U.S. and Canadian Governments with Special Reports from Alaska Miners and Explorers. Inset map shows lake routes to Dawson. This delicate folding map is housed in a stiff paper board cover. The cover is printed inside and out with laws concerning gold mining, routes to the gold fields, and what one would need to outfit one man for one year of gold mining including 30 lbs. of lard, 120 lbs. of bacon, and 10 lbs. of currants. Don't forget your two suits of heavy wool underwear or your medicine for rheumatism, scurvy, chills and fever. Very Good antique condition with some separation at creases and minor damage to edges. Also has pencil writing and scratching on back side of map but can be seen when one opens the cover. Map is approx. 24 x 36.5 inches. Book is approx. 6.5 x 4.5 inches
