High quality giclee print of probably the earliest map of the town of Chatham, MA, 1795 by Howes, ?. North is oriented to the bottom. Shows roads, ponds, islands, bays, windmills, the meeting house. According to the map, "The reputed distance from the Centre of Chatham to Barnstable the shire town is 20 miles. To Boston the metropolis is 96 miles." A fascinating glimpse into Old Cape Cod. This image has been slightly retouched but many of the antique map's imperfections remain visible in the image. We can further reduce the imperfections on request for an additional cost. Measures approx. 25.25"h x 17.5"w to the edges of the printed area. The white paper extends beyond these measurements and can be trimmed off if desired.
