Antique black and white map of the island of Crete probably from Tabularum Geographicarum, French text edition, by Cornelis Claesz, 1601. Features a decorative cartouche. Map includes cities, towns, topographical detail, and the mythical labyrinth where the minotaur was imprisoned. Visible plate mark. Very good overall antique condition with minor toning/soiling of the paper, as well as a handwritten note in French "Creta ou Candia" in ink above the map by a previous owner. Map measures approx. 3 x 4.25 inches.
