Antique page of music from a circa 1587 Missal (a service book containing the texts necessary for the performance of the Catholic mass including chants, prayers, and readings, together with ceremonial directions). This page contains instructions for "Benedictio Cerei" (The Blessing of the Candle), with music. Printed, with interesting early musical notation. Very good antique condition with some mild toning/slight soiling. Measures approx. 11 x 8.5 inches to the paper edges.
