Antique print of Knowlton Court in Kent, England. By Johannes Kip, published in "The History of Kent", by John Harris, 1719.  Knowlton Court is a Grade I listed manor house near Goodnestone, Kent, England that dates back to the Elizabethan period. The present front façade in the Queen Anne style, was added in 1715. The building today is regularly used as a location for films and photoshoots. John Harris was an English writer, scientist, and Anglican priest. This is one of the most attractively illustrated histories of the county of Kent and he intended to write five volumes. The first was 8 years in the writing and was published posthumously. Harris died insolvent and his work on the second volume was never found. Print measures approx. 13.25 x 19.25 inches to the neatline. Very good condition with center fold as issued and some additional folds, mild wrinkles, tight margins as issued. Small tear in lower right.
