Genuine Antique Uncolored Print

1899

Maker: Harper's Weekly.

Uncolored antique print of part of New York City, Manhattan, showing suggested changes to improve the water front on the Hudson River. Drawn by H.M. Petitt from the Architect's Plans, and published in Harper's Weekly in 1899. The plan shows a grand and almost European walkway that features statues, gardens, gazebos, fountains, arches, and more, for the strolling pleasure of the leisure classes. Sadly this plan was never executed. Very good condition with center fold as issued, staple marks in center visible from being stapled into the magazine, and lower left corner folded by a half-inch. Approx. 12 x 19 inches to the neatline.
