Very old, small antique atlas, in original leather cover, containing 45 individual maps covering the entire globe. One sphere of the world map is missing, otherwise complete. Hand colored in outline. With beautifully decorated and illustrated title page and dedication page, in black and white. Poor condition, most of the maps seem to be split down the center fold at least partially. Some were repaired with some sort of red paper. That same paper was used to try to reattach some of the maps to the binding. The red paper doesn't seem to be permanently attached in some cases, so it is likely that this book could be restored by a professional. Someone also attached another more recent map into the book. It is fragile and when handling it you must be careful not to tear any of the seams further. But it appears to be complete, aside from the lost Eastern Hemisphere. Book measures approx. 5 x 6.5 inches. Some maps fold out.
