Black and white antique map showing Nantucket Sound, the Atlantic Ocean, and Monomoy Island of Chatham, MA, including Handkerchief shoals, Bearses shoal, and more. This map was drawn by Captain W.H. Bixby, Captain of Engineers for the US Corps of Engineers in July 1893. It shows the locations and names of various shipwrecks in the area and details whether they were removed in 1892-93 or in the progress of removal. Very good antique condition with two small tears with tape repairs. The antique paper is very thin and the tape is slightly visible through the paper, although this effect is decreased when there is white behind the map.approx. 4.5 x 8 inches **SOLD**
