Maker: Bates.

Handsome navy blue and off-white printed map compiled and drawn by George T. Bates, of Cape Cod's sunken wrecks, showing the general distribution of many of the Cape's known shipwrecks, including perhaps its most famous early wreck, the pirate ship Widdah off Wellfleet, known today as the Whydah, and an alphabetical listing by vessel name that includes a short narrative of each wreck, the date and number lost if known, and also a general history of maritime Cape Cod. This is a reproduction of a map created in the 1960s. Printed on light weight paper. Paper edges may have some small imperfections. Very good overall antique condition, measures approx. 22 x 28 inches.
