Antique hand-colored map of Hancock County, Maine, from the 1885 Colby Atlas of Maine. Shows Mount Desert Island, Isle Au Haut, Penobscot Bay, and many lakes including Nicatous Lake. 

Hancock County includes the towns of Amherst, Aurora, Bar Harbor, Blue Hill, Brooklin, Brooksville, Bucksport, Castine, Cranberry Isles, Dedham, Deer Isle, Eastbrook, Ellsworth, Franklin, Frenchboro, Gouldsboro, Great Pond, Hancock, Lamoine, Mariaville, Mount Desert, Orland, Osborn, Otis, Penobscot, Prospect Harbor, Sedgwick, Sorrento, Southwest Harbor, Stonington, Sullivan, Surry, Swan's Island, Tremont, Trenton, Verona, Waltham, and Winter Harbor.

Measures 16 x 24 inches. Fair to good condition with some toning overall and some separations along the folds at left and right that have been repaired with non-archival tape, including some tape on the face of the map.
