Antique chart of Newfoundland, Canada, published by the Depot General de la Marine, 1784. This map was based on the maps of James Cook from his third voyage 1776-9. It includes rhumb lines and depths as well as a table of landmarks and their coordinates. Impressive size and vibrant hand-coloring. Very good antique condition with toning and small tears at the paper edges. Center fold as issued - fold is a bit deep but could be flattened with some weight and a little patience. Measures approx. 34 x 23.75 inches to the neatline.
