Maker: Isaiah Thomas/Massachusetts Magazine.

High quality uncolored reproduction of a map showing eastern Massachusetts, including Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket, Plymouth, Boston, Cape Ann, and Narragansett. This is a reproduction of a rare antique map which appeared in the Massachusetts Magazine, published by Isaiah Thomas. This "Magazine" had a limited circulation and is considered by collectors to be quite rare. The map was published to illustrate a proposal for a canal from Barnstable Bay to Buzzards Bay at Sandwich. It was the first map printed in America to focus on the area around Cape Cod. Printed area measures approximately 13.5" x 11.25" in total. Measured to the edges of the printed area. Paper may be larger but can be trimmed as needed.
