20th Century/ 1677
Maker: John Foster.
High quality uncolored reproduction of a map of New England (showing a region stretching from as far south as Newhaven, Connecticut to as far north as Portland, Maine, and as far south as the Connecticut River to the eastern point of Cape Cod and the Islands,) as shown from an interesting angle- oriented to the West. This reproduction was created using a 20th century reproduction of the original antique map published by John Foster, 1677, which was purportedly the first map printed in America. Includes a compass rose, illustrated houses denoting towns, and illustrations of trees, animals, native peoples, and ships sailing the seas. Printed area measures approximately 14" x 17.25" in total. Measured to the edges of the printed area. Paper may be larger but can be trimmed as needed.
