Charming antique map of St. Kitt's, Saint Christopher in the Caribbean, West Indies, from "Tables de la Geographie Ancienne et Nouveli ou Methode pour s'Instruire avec facilite de la Geographie, et Connoistre Les Empires, Monarchies, Royaumes, Estats, Republiques, et Peuples, tant Anciens que Nouveaux, de Toutes Les Parties Du Monde", by Nicolas Sanson d'Abbeville, c. 1660. Sanson was the father of French cartography; at the time this map was drawn, the French had seized the island from the Spanish and lost part of it to the English. Fair to good overall antique condition, with strong uneven toning.  Could be restored and recolored for an additional cost. Measures approx. 12.25 x 17 inches to the neatline.
