Antique map from "Nouvel Atlas Portatif, comprenant le Geographie Universelle, Ancienne et Moderne…" by M. Herisson, fourth edition, 1816. This was around the time that countires in South America were demanding and fighting for their independence from European countries. Original hand-coloring. Very good antique condition with minor signs of age including slight toning and some tiny spots/foxing. Map measures approximately 7" x 9.5" (H x W) to the neatline and 8.25 x 10 inches to the paper edges.
