Antique hand colored map of Japan and Korea by Pinkerton, 1809. This is a detailed map of Japan and Korea similar to Thomson's (1814) Corea and Japan with some similar features. Oddly, the earlier map appears to be more detailed, but the shape of Japan is less accurate. This map offers a great representation of Korea, including mountains, towns, rivers, and early geopolitical boundaries. This map has been professionally deacidified, cleaned and rebacked with light archival material. Very good condition, evenly toned.
