High-quality hand-printed and hand-colored reproduction of an antique view of the city of Florence, or Firenze, Italy, by Georg Balthasar Probst c. 1745. With a key at the bottom labeling the buildings of the city and the Florentine fleur-de-lis in upper right. This reproduction was made using a combination of modern technology and traditional methods, wherein an original is scanned, its likeness is digitally etched onto an engraving plate, then the plate is used to print the image in the traditional way, with a printing press. It is then hand colored. Approx. 9.5 x 33 inches to image border. Total sheet size is 13.25 x 39 inches. Visible plate mark. Printed on heavy paper that has an antique appearance. Has some imperfections that give the map a more authentic look. Because these are hand colored, the coloring may vary slightly from the photo.
