Full title: Plate 45. Orange County &c. VA. / Military Departments of Washington, Pennsylvania, Annapolis and Northeastern Virginia, July, 1861 / Map to show Lines of March of Second Army Corps and The Enemy, October 14, 1863 / Battle-Field at Bristoe, October 14, 1863 / Missionary Ridge, Tenn., November 24th and 25th, 1863 / 3 smaller maps. Antique lithograph by Julius Bien & Co published in the Atlas to Accompany the Official Records of the Union and Confederate Armies published under the direction of the Hon. Stephen B. Elkins, Secretary of War, 1892. The atlas was published as a companion piece to the Official Records of the American Civil War. It contains maps and other images derived from materials generated by both Union and Confederate military personnel during the American Civil War. The atlas was printed in 35 parts between 1891 and 1895. Printed color indicates topography and Union or Confederate locations. The three small maps were apparently sent with letters sent by army generals. Very good condition with mild image transfer, a few minor spots/stains and a touch of foxing, and some staining and wear to the paper edges. Slight creases in the lower half of the map that are barely noticeable. Measures approx. 16 x 27 inches to the outer border lines.
