Antique coast survey chart of part of Florida on the western coast, Gulf of Mexico, by the US Coast Survey 1863. This chart shows the entrance to Charlotte Harbor between Gasparilla Island (Boca Grande) and Lacosta Island (Cayo Costa), and also includes part of Pine Island and many smaller islands. Inset map shows the sketch of the larger area including Captiva and Sanibel Islands. Shows the area that is now Cape Haze Aquatic Preserve (est. 1978). Includes Bathymetric data, water depths, sailing directions, and tidal information. Folds as issued. Good to very good antique condition with toning along the folds, some separation/paper loss along the folds on the left. Measures approx. 21.75 x 26.5 inches to the neatline. Could be hand-colored by our professional colorist for an additional cost, please ask us if you are interested.
