Antique statistical chart of the United States, published in the "Statistical Atlas of the United States based on the results of the Ninth Census 1870 with Contributions from many Eminent Men of Science and several Departments of the Government," compiled by Francis Chart Showing the Distribution by Age and Sex of Idiocy in 1860 and 1870. "Idiocy" was used as a term to define people with mental disabilities from birth. Left is males and right is females. Very good condition with some minor stains, mostly in the margin. Page measures approx. 21.75 x 16 inches. Each map measures approx. 8.25 x 14.25 inches to the neatline.
