Antique hand-colored map of Connecticut, by H.S. Tanner, in Tanner's Universal Atlas, 1834. Original hand-coloring by county with town lines, roads, villages, cities, a canal in orange running north from New Haven, and apparently no railroads yet, although the key includes a blue line for railroads. Very good overall antique condition, very mild toning and minimal signs of age including some small repairs at the paper edges on the back. Measures approx. 11.5 x 14 inches.
