High-quality hand-printed and hand colored reproduction of an antique "table of the flags that the ships of all nations display on the seas," in French, by Mathieu Seutter, c. 1712. Print includes labels of the nation attributed to each flag, a decorative compass rose at the top of the chart, and illustrations of ships towards the bottom. Made using a combination of modern technology and traditional methods, wherein an original is scanned, its likeness is digitally etched onto an engraving plate, then the plate is used to print the image in the traditional way, with a printing press. The map is then hand colored. Printed area measures approximately 19.5" x 25.5". Page measures approx. 22" x 30" in its entirety.
