By A. Hoen, created for the United States General Land Office, published 1855. The coverage area includes the Arredondo Grant (an unlabeled block in the upper center) - a parcel of land containing 289,645 acres given to Fernando de la Maza Arredondo\in 1817 by the King of Spain. The Alachua Land District itself had been created by an act of Congress in 1842, including the establishment of a land office in the town of Newnansville for the sale of public lands within the district.Five small binding holes remain along the bottom edge, as map was issued in a bound report log.
