Antique uncolored map of part of France, by Hondius/Janssonius, c. 1630s. Shows the area around Sedan and Doncheri and the Meuze River from Charleville and Mezieres to Mosuon and Yvoy. Includes what is now the Ardennes Regional Nature Park. The fortified cities are well depicted. Richly embellished with topography shown pictorially and a large title cartouche with the royal arms, a scale cartouche and coat of arms. Very good restored condition, map has been cleaned, deacidified, and the center where the fold was has been backed (thus repairing some small seam separations). Some minor signs of age remain, including mild stains and slight waviness of the antique paper. Measures approx. 15 x 19.75 inches to the neatline.
