Antique hand-colored map of the Mid-Atlantic states copyrighted 1839, from Mitchell's School and Family Geography, published by Thomas, Cowperthwait & Co. in 1851. Includes New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia (before West Virginia broke away), and North Carolina. Colored by state with counties, and cities labeled. Some railroads. Two ships illustrated and some historical notes. Good condition with minor toning, some tiny spots, and a small separation along the fold on the right side. Approx. 16.5 x 11 inches to the neatline.
