Maker: Lee Carter
Antique pictorial map of Indiana by Lee Carter, published by the Indiana Department of Conservation in 1932. Scarce first edition of this map, which features historical events, notable locations, and points of interest, including an early depiction of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Lincoln’s boyhood home and important battle scenes. It is a celebration of Hoosier history and lore. This map has a trompe l'oeil frame- the printed design includes a frame to make it look like the map is framed. This map is backed on fabric and at one point someone put brown tape around the edges and the tape left a dark brown color although most of it has fallen off. Fair to good condition with wrinkles and fraying of the fabric at edges. Measures approx. 34.5 x 24.5 inches.
