Genuine Antique Chart

Antique chart of part of the Gulf of Mexico, from the entrance of the Mississippi to Florida, published by the Hydrographic Office of the US Navy in 1870. New Orleans is included on the left side between the neatline and the graticule line (the striped border line that indicates latitude and longitude). This chart includes Mobile Bay, Pensacola Bay, Santa Rosa Bay, St Andrew's Bay, Apalachicola Bay, Appalachee Bay, Etc. With hand-colored lighthouses and arcs of illumination indicated. This chart has water depths and other bathymetric information. Backed with linen. It is in good antique condition with some vertical creases where the paper is torn but not separated, horizontal wrinkling, some minor spots and stains, some small tears at the paper edges. Measures approx. 24.5 x 38.25 inches to the neatline.
