Antique hand-colored map, from S. Augustus Mitchell's "A New Universal Atlas, Containing Maps of the Various Empires, Kingdoms, States and Republics of the World, With a Special Map of Each of the United States, Plans of Cities, etc.", 1849. Early county boundaries. This was published shortly after the Aroostook War and even has notes: "Boundary according to the Treaty of 1783" and "Boundary Line of 1842." Very good overall antique condition with minor toning, some small tears at paper edges. A previous owner added some pen marks. Measures approx. 16 x 13 inches to the neatline.
