Antique black and white illustration by A. Sandham from the March 1,1890 edition of Harper's Weekly, showing the track and field events hosted by the Boston Athletic Association or BAA, including their famous unicorn logo. Events include the "Mile Race," "High Jump," "Putting the Shot," "40 Yard Dash," and "Tug of War." The dynamic depiction of the events includes an official in a tuxedo, and ladies in the balcony waving their handkerchiefs! Antique running, racing, track sport print is in very good condition, with mild toning, measures approx. 16 x 11 inches to the paper edges. Comes with an additional page of text that has a blurb about the event.
