Uncolored antique map whose title translates to "Map of the Northern Part of the United States of North America. By M. Bonne, Ingenieur-Hydrographer to the Navy." By Rigobert Bonne, published in Raynal's "Atlas de Toutes les Parties Connues du Globe Terrestre, Dresse Pour l'Histoire Philosophique et Politique des Etablissemens et du Commerce des Europeens dans les deux Indes" (Atlas of All Known Parts of Globe, Lists For Philosophical History and Policy establishments and Trade of the Europeans in the two Indies), 1780. Shows New England and the northeast including Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, New York, and Pennsylvania during the Revolutionary War period. Includes cities and towns, rivers and water bodies, some landforms. Interesting depictions of Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket, Long Island, etc. The eagle-eyed observer might notice the Massachusetts is spelled "Machasuzet" in two places. Good to very good condition with minor toning, some mild foxing, and with fold as issued. Approx. 8 x 12.25 inches to the neatline.
