Antique woodcut engraving of views of the city of Montreal, Canada, from William Cullen Bryant's classic 1872 work, "Picturesque America." Includes a view of the Custom House, Helen's Island, and a view of Montreal from Helen's Island. The image measures 9.5 x 6.5 inches and is in very good antique condition. Recent hand-coloring. Page measures approx. 12.5 x 9.5 inches. Note: any "rainbows" or strange patterns in the image are called moire pattern- caused by taking a digital photo or scan of the many parallel lines in the print- these are not in the print and we can try to take more photos if you are concerned.
