Antique map of Portions of Shrewsbury and Ocean Townships NJ from the Atlas of Monmouth County, New Jersey, published by Beers, Comstock, & Cline in 1873. This map was published before Asbury Park was separated from Ocean Township, six years before Neptune Township was incorporated, and many years before Allenhurst was separated. The beginnings of Asbury Park are shown on the map but Neptune had not yet begun to be developed. This map was published for tax purposes and includes property owners' names, with densely populated areas enlarged separately. Original hand-coloring. Very good antique condition with mild toning, some small spots and edge wear. Measures approx. 14 x 20.25 inches to the neatline.
