Antique map of Southern New England, circa 1855, by Roswell, Pearsall, Smith. Shows MA, CT, and RI. This map has a combination of old and new color. Inset maps of the area around Providence, Rhode Island and Hartford, Connecticut. Shows railroads, some towns, some geographical features such as rivers and maountains. From Smith's Atlas for Schools. Undated, but we know it was published after 1854 because the railroad to Hyannis was opened in that year, and before 1865 because the line from Yarmouth to Orleans is not shown. Very good antique condition with mild overall toning. Matted. Measures approx. 11.25 x 9.25 inches to the neatline. Total size with mat is approx. 16 x 14 inches. Mat is faded.
