Antique map of part of Newton, MA, Mass., from the Atlas of the City of Newton Massachusetts From Actual Surveys and Official Plans, published by G.W. Bromley & Co. in 1895. These maps were created for tax and insurance purposes and the buildings are coloured by type- the color key was only included on the index map, but pink is brick, yellow is "frame" or wood, purple/grey is stone, and a building with an x through it is a stable or shed. Each property is labelled with the property owner's name. Includes Auburn St, Central St, Grove St, The Newton Boat Club, Lasell Female Seminary, and part of the Charles River, etc. Shows roads, railroads, bodies of water, etc. Overall good to very good condition with mild surface soiling, some minor stains, some wear along the center fold. Fabric tape at upper left where the leather tab is and a stain at the upper right where the leather tab touched. This map has hand written notes. Measures approx. 20.5 x 30.5 inches to the page edges.
