Full title: Plate 76. Battle-Ground at Rivers' Bridge, Big Salkehatchie River, S.C. / Chart of Cape Fear River and Port of Wilmington, N.C. / Operations of the Army of the Potomac from March 29th to April 9th, 1865 / Pile Bridge, James River near Varina, Va., January, 1865 plus 2 smaller maps. Antique lithograph by Julius Bien & Co published in the Atlas to Accompany the Official Records of the Union and Confederate Armies published under the direction of the Hon. Daniel S. Lamont, Secretary of War, 1893. The atlas was published as a companion piece to the Official Records of the American Civil War. It contains maps and other images derived from materials generated by both Union and Confederate military personnel during the American Civil War. The atlas was printed in 35 parts between 1891 and 1895. Printed color indicates topography and Union or Confederate locations. The two smaller maps are: Portions of Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia showing March of Cavalry Corps march 22 to April 20, 1865; Map showing Routes of Marches of the Army of Gen. W.T. Sherman from Atlanta GA to Goldsborough NC. Very good condition with mild image transfer, a few minor spots/stains and a touch of foxing, and some staining and wear to the paper edges. This map has paper loss in the margins but should look great framed. Measures approx. 16 x 27 inches to the outer border lines.
