Maker: US War Dept..

Full title: Plate 35. Vicinity of Decherd / Manchester and Vicinity / Sketch of Tullahoma, Tenn. and Vicinity / Proposed Road along South Bank of New Canal from Duckport to Walnut Bayou / Jasper and Vicinity / Chattanooga and Vicinity / Shelbyville and Vicinity - July 1863. Antique lithograph by Julius Bien & Co published in the Atlas to Accompany the Official Records of the Union and Confederate Armies published under the direction of the Hon. Stephen B. Elkins, Secretary of War, 1892. The atlas was published as a companion piece to the Official Records of the American Civil War. It contains maps and other images derived from materials generated by both Union and Confederate military personnel during the American Civil War. The atlas was printed in 35 parts between 1891 and 1895. Printed color indicates topography and Union or Confederate locations. Almost all of these maps are parts of Tennessee TN except the proposed road, which is along the Mississippi River between Mississippi and Louisiana near Tallulah. Very good condition with mild image transfer, a few minor spots/stains and a touch of foxing, and some staining and wear to the paper edges. Measures approx. 16 x 27 inches to the outer border lines.
