Antique hand colored map of Providence RI Rhode Island published by Sampson, Davenport, & Co. in 1869. Colored by ward with streets, steam railroads, horse rail roads, waterways, and public spaces. Includes the Cove Promenade and other mid-19th century features of the city. Prepared by C.E. Paine and apparently sold by J.C. Thompson. Very good original condition backed on a light linen with silk ribbon sewn to the edges to protect the paper. With some minor spots and stains. Approx. 26.5 x 22.75 inches to the neatline.
